The Women’s Riding Program is an Equine-Assisted Learning program with three unique components:
1. Learning to Ride a Horse
Developing confidence and resilience through riding, interacting with, and caring for horses during 7 individual equestrian experiences, each 2 hours long.
2. Developing Life Skills
Developing life skills, incorporated into the equestrian experiences, based on the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey.
3. Saving a Girl
This program is taught by Bridle Up Hope women instructors who are exceptionally skilled in horsemanship, but who also want to give back by volunteering their time. This allows us to keep our costs low, so the money you pay for this program sponsors a young woman in need of the Bridle Up Hope program.

“Since my 7 Habits trainings I feel a peace that was missing and strength in my survival. My Bridle Up hope riding instructor was sensitive, kind and understanding and took great care to consider me as an individual. The facilities and grounds are beautiful, and I felted inspired just showing up. I am grateful to revisit the 7 Habits and their powerful teachings so nicely linked together with majestic horses at Bridle Up Hope. I sincerely appreciate all those involved with the foundation and their efforts that continue to advance this remarkable program.” Cindy W.

“This program is amazing!! It has taught me how to look at life differently. Something that may seem bad can actually be good, depending on how I choose to look at it. I want to change and become a better wife, mother, and friend. At times I have thought that I was hopeless and that I couldn’t change, but I have learned that isn’t true at all. There will always be road bumps in my life, but I can get around them! There will always be people in my life who love me and are there to help me through anything!” Michelle G.

Our Approach

Bridle Up Hope is a one-of-a-kind program. We are not a therapy program or a treatment center, nor are we a “riding club.” Rather, we are an Equine-Assisted Learning program to help you develop confidence, resilience, and life skills. You will have tons of fun and feel empowered to succeed in life! Everything about Bridle Up Hope, including the riding lessons and barn culture, is infused with The 7 Habits for Equestrians, so you learn to apply the 7 Habits at the barn and in your personal life.

Habit 1: Be Proactive. Take charge of your horse. Take charge of your life.
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. Have a plan for your ride. Have a plan for your life.
Habit 3: Put First Things First. Prepare before your ride. Work before you play.
Habit 4: Think Win-Win. Remember your horse’s needs and your own. Remember, everyone can win.
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. Listen to your horse first. Listen before you talk.
Habit 6: Synergize. Become one with your horse. Work well with others.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw. Nurture your horse. Nurture yourself: body, heart, mind, and soul.
The 8th Habit: Find Your Voice, and help others find theirs.
